Founding of the original company in Berlin under the name PAUL SAUER Berliner Buchdruckwalzen-Giessanstalt und Walzenmasse-Fabrik.

1926


The company founder, Paul Sauer, passes away and his son, Erich Sauer, assumes leadership responsibilities of the company.
1945


After World War II, reconstruction of the Berlin and Hanover manufacturing facilities begins.

1952


Erich Sauer passes away and his son Horst Sauer assumes leadership responsibilities.

1957


Initial production at the manufacturing plant in Frankfurt.

1961


Beginning of Europeanization with the founding of SAUER-HISPANIA in Barcelona.

1962


Founding of SAUER-AUSTRIA in Vienna.

1963


Founding of SAUER-FRANCE in Lyon.

1981


Opening of a second production facility for SAUER-HISPANIA in Madrid.

1990


Opening of a second production facility for SAUER-FRANCE in Paris.

1991


With the German reunification production resumes in the original manufacturing facility in Berlin.

1997


Horst Sauer passes away and his son Alexander Sauer assumes leadership responsibilities.

1998



The beginning of globalization through the acquisition of PRECISION ROLLER CORPORATION, New York into the SAUER Group as SAUER-AMERICA.

1999


Founding of SAUER-ITALIA in Milan.

2000


On March 7, the SAUER Group celebrates the beginning of its second hundred years of existence.
